Skip Bags

They are known by many names: skip bags, bulk bags, jumbo sacks, hippo bags, grab bags - they are all the same thing. We offer a fast, reliable and in most cases a much cheaper collection service.

Follow the simple step by step process below to ensure a smooth collection.

1. Location

We cover a 20 mile radius from our base in Yateley Hampshire, check we operate in your area by using the map below, you can zoom in and drag to find your location.

Please note that we do not operate within the M25.

Always ensure that there is adequate access for our collection vehicle. It is roughly the same size as a bin lorry, however we will also need room to operate the crane safely. We cannot lift bags over cars and other peoples properties.

2. Choosing the right size bag

We do not supply the skip bags. You can buy bags online or at most DIY stores or builders’ merchants.

You can use new or used bags any brand will do as long as it is one of the 3 sizes below and in good condition. All bags should be level loaded, no higher than the sides of the bag and within a 1000kg weight limit.  Please do not leave extra waste near the bag as this will not be collected.

We cannot except paint, liquids, chemicals, tyres, asbestos, fridges, freezers, gas bottles.

Yard bag
(midi bag)

or standard merchant builders bag.

Suitable for most types of waste including full loads of soil, rubble, bricks concrete and general waste.

1.5 Yard bag
(mega bag)

Suitable for most general waste; but not suitable for full loads of soil or rubble, bricks concrete as this could easily be over the 1000kg weight limit.

4.5 Yard bag
(hippo skip bag)

Due to the size of this large bag, this is suitable for lighter bulky waste. Shed and garage clearance for example. Not suitable for soil or rubble, bricks concrete as this could easily be over the 1000kg weight limit.

3. Bag Position

Place your bag in the correct position before loading as you may not be able to move it once full, this can also damage the bag, and yourself.

The Lorry stays on the road at all times, the bags are reached close to the “side” of the lorry, (like the photo opposite). The bags need to be away from your house or garage and as near to the road as possible within 3.5 metres from the kerb. We will need room to operate the crane safely, so parked cars etc would need to be moved, also avoid low over hanging branches or telephone cables above.

We can even lift the bags over wall and fences

Please be aware that we do not supply the bags, this is a collection only service.

4. Booking your Collection

Only place your order once the bag is full and ready to be collected.

Click on our online shop and select the size bag that needs collecting. Add to basket and make payment. You can add multiple bags and different sizes on one order. You can also select a different billing/shipping address.

When an order has been placed, we receive a notification, your order is then booked onto our system. You will also receive an automated e-mail. The orders are then sorted and collected by location. We aim to complete orders within five working days.

Good Practice

If possible, keep the different waste streams separate, for example inert waste: soil, rubble, concrete, hardcore separate from general waste, plastic, wood, cardboard, packaging, metal etc, as this really helps with recycling your waste.
